Check The Status of a Certificate

 

Checking the status of your online application for a Birth, Marriage or Death Certificate is fast and easy. The status of your online application becomes available one business day after you submit it.

Before You Start

  • To inquire about your online application status you will need:
  • To indicate the type of certificate you requested (birth, death or marriage)
  • Applicant’s name and telephone number
  • Name of the subject (the person to be listed on the certificate)
  • Date of the event
  • Order / File Number, if available

Additional Information

  • You can check the status of paper applications you submitted by mail. Depending on the service level you selected, this may be some time after receipt of your application.
  • The status of Online or Emergency applications will be available one business day after receipt
  • The status of Expedited applications will be available up to three business days after receipt
  • The status of Regular applications will be available up to five weeks after receipt
  • Status tracking is not available for Premium Online at this time. If your Premium Online request cannot be processed, the Office of the Registrar General will contact you within two business days of submitting your application at the daytime phone number you listed on the application
